European Union law

European Union law has become a major component of the national law of each Member State. We specialize primarily in the economic law of the European Union.

Above all, we advise our clients in the various aspects of European Union competition law. First and foremost, this includes agreements and practices that restrict competition and abuses of dominant position. We are also involved in mergers and acquisitions. Our expertise includes matters involving Member State subsidies and grants whether it is advising authorities when they plan new measures that are similar to subsidies and grants or to assist businesses that are being requested to repay any subsidies and grants.

We also offer specific experience in the free movement of capital and goods and the very current issue of the freedom of establishment of businesses in European Union territory. The shared intention of creating a true internal market within the European Union obliges Member States to eliminate any regulation that restricts the freedom of establishment or sets forth any conditions that are stricter for other EU businesses than for national ones.

Our in-depth knowledge of these various facets of European Union law not only enables us to reply to one-off client questions but also to provide comprehensive opinions when our advice is sought on more general issues.
